A Beautiful Day for a Garden Tour in Hanchett Park for San Jose Parks Foundation's 1st Fundraising Event!

Gardens of San Jose / Hanchett Park Garden Tour – May 21, 2011

Thank You Hanchett Park Gardens Hosts

San Jose Parks Foundation thanks the Hanchett Park Heritage Project and its President, Lorie Bird for leading us in our first fundraising event. We presented a wonderful tour of five private gardens in the Hanchett Park neighborhood on Saturday, May 21.

Our gratitude for the hosts who opened their beautiful gardens is truly boundless. Our hosts are examples of great citizenship and community spirit at their best. They are:

Dan & Laura Winter

Grace & Jeannot Vatus

Erich Winkler & Nuno Encarnao

Gam Galindo & Martin Fenstersheib

Mary Sweeney

The Tour of the Hanchett Park Gardens included a Home & Garden Boutique, which had a variety of unique and wonderful items and gifts for sale.

The boutique was the work of indefatigable Helen Chapman, president of the Shasta-Hanchett Park Neighborhood Association, which also sponsored the Preview Party at Antonella's Ristorante on Thursday, May 19.There was also a silent auction component, which raised even more funds for both organizations.

A Tour of 5 Beautiful Gardens in the Historic Hanchett Park Neighborhood was held on May 21, 2011 from 10am to 4pm – Thanks to all who attended!!

Photos to follow soon.
