Your Donations Make A Difference in these Programs and in San Jose's Parks & Trails

  • Santa Teresa Bernal Neighborhood Assoc.

The Santa Teresa Bernal Neighborhood Association was formed in 2010 to unite the neighborhoods south of Santa Teresa Boulevard bounded by Cottle Road to the West and Bernal Road to the East. The association meets monthly in the Santa Teresa library and focuses on neighborhood beautification and safety issues. The association is park-deficient and focuses on connectivity to surrounding parks via Albertson Parkway, namely Hitachi Park (and eventually Coyote Creek) to the North and Santa Teresa County Park via the Coyote-Alamitos canal trail to the South.

  • Dog Waste Bags Program

San Jose Parks Foundation is seeking donors to help purchase dog waste bags to supply the dispensers citywide. San Jose Parks Foundation also seeks volunteers to help re-stock the dispensers. Click here to go directly to the Dog Waste Bag Program Page.

  • Buena Vista Park Project

Buena Vista Park exists already. It is a small park in a community that values it highly. The Buena Vista Neighborhood Association has worked with the City of San Jose to expand the park on an adjacent lot. Your contribution will help the community develop this new lot and assist in creating long-term care for the entire park.

  • Five Wounds Trail

Five Wounds Trail runs from Coyote Creek near I-280 to the iconic Church of Five Wounds on East Santa Clara Street and north across Julian to Highway 101 and Lower Silver Creek, connecting the Coyote Creek and Lower Silver Creek Trails and providing a crucial link in the citywide trail system. Part of the trail—from I-280 to East William Street is already completed.

Friends of the Five Wounds Trail is a group of residents of the Five Wounds/Brookwood Terrace neighborhoods dedicated to completing the remaining portions of this great urban asset.
  • Art Box Project San Jose

The Art Box Project San Jose is a new and innovative way to keep San Jose looking great. The landscape of San Jose, like any urban or suburban metropolis, is dotted with power boxes that interrupt otherwise charming vistas of urban & suburban life. Art Box Project San Jose is a community-based organization that works with neighborhoods and artists to decorate these often unsightly boxes.
  • Almaden Valley Youth Programs

Almaden Valley's youth programs range from outdoor soccer to indoor basketball, crafts and programs for toddlers. Contribute to helping the young people of San Jose's District 10.

  • Martin-Fontana Parks Association

The Martin Fontana Parks Association is a neighborhood based association formed to work with PG&E to manage the trees and future planting in TJ Martin and Jeffrey Fontana parks. Several of the original trees have been cut down to accommodate PG&E wires overhead. MFPAvolunteers work hard to preserve as many trees as possible and to replace the ones are cut down.

  • FOBLCC / Bascom Community Center

Several groups have collaborated to try to open this new community center, built by the funding that was passed by voters in 2000. Maintenance issues and general operating costs are preventing it from opening, along with the Bascom Library that shares the building. We are working in partnership with the Friends of Bacom Library, Community Center and Café (FOBLCC).

  • Maybury / Commodore Park Project

The park at the corner of Maybury and Commodore has been "on the books' for three decades and has yet to be built. District 4 Councilmember Kansen Chu and a host of community groups are working together to get this park built.

  • Volunteer Activities

One of the key components of maintaining a vibrant, beautiful Parks system is tom have volunteers help with a variety of tasks, from pruning roses to clearing brush to repairing benches and picnic tables and much more. Throughout the year, Mollie Tobias leads this effort for PRNS. We support this effort in every way, including raising funds to help cover the costs of tools, supplies, and all elements related to being able to provide volunteer services.

  • Municipal Rose Garden

Terry Reilly and Beverly Rose Hopper, along with a dedicated volunteers or the Friends of the Municipal Rose Garden have restored this great community treasure to a place of prominence that it has not known for decades. Rated as America's Best Rose Garden by a national Organization in 2010, it is a wonder to behold. Donate to help keep the Municipal Rose Garden as a jewel of San Jose's Parks system.
