Parks Foundation Adds New Board Members
San Jose Parks Foundation welcomed four new Board Members at its October Board Meeting, launching a new era in the five-year old nonprofit organization’s history, which Board President Kathy Sutherland identifies as “Parks Foundation 2.0”.
Four dynamic community leaders from different segments of the San Jose community have been added to the Board of Trustees. They are:
Jessica Dena – is a processor/coordinator with National Seating Service. Jessica has extensive experience in special events, a very valuable skill for San Jose Parks.
Juliana Nairouz-Khamis – is an Anthropology Instructor at San Jose City College, and is also very active in parks and community activities in District 10, where she resides.
Tim McRae – is the Senior Energy Director at Silicon Valley Leadership Group. Tim’s knowledge of environmental issues and his experience in advocacy are very important to the foundation’s environmental programs.
Rob Wilkins – works in Real Estate Development at ROEM Corporation. Developers play a key role in funding construction of San Jose Parks and Rob’s knowledge and experience should be a substantial asset to the foundation in this regard.
The October Board of Trustees meeting was held at City Hall and began with a presentation from the City of San Jose’s department of Parks Recreation & Neighborhood Services – Assistant Director Matt Cano and Deputy Director, Recreation & Community Services Division Suzanne Wolf.
