This is a specially designed service to help Neighborhood Associations, clubs, groups of citizens, and community-minded people who want to take action to help a San Jose Park, a number of parks, or all San Jose Parks in general.
San Jose Parks Foundation can provide your group with a Fiscal receiver to legally receive contributions, which are then used to complete the project you are undertaking.
Included as part of the Fiscal Receiver partnership is basic training in fundraising for your community group.
We also can help you without having to create a formal Fiscal receivership agreement. Call or email us to find out what's best for your group.
Complete the Application for Fiscal Receivership and send it to SJPF / Fiscal Receiver Service / P. O. Box 53841 / San Jose, CA 95153. Feel free to call 408.893.PARK or send an email [info@sanjoseparks.org] with any questions you may have.

Many of you may have read articles in the San Jose Mercury News recently regarding cuts to the dog waste bag program. San Jose Parks Foundation is working on a solution. The following press advisory was issued Monday, August 29:
The San Jose Parks Foundation will launch a program to provide dog waste bags for distribution to parks throughout San Jose.
“City budget cuts have left empty dispensers. This simple solution will help conscientious dog owners and concerned citizens keep our city clean,” said foundation Executive Director James Reber. “We will raise funds and purchase bags for use throughout San Jose. We have volunteers wanting to help and we’ll recruit more.”
According to Reber, this is a citywide problem that requires a citywide solution. A few citizens have approached the foundation since the dispensers ran out of bags in July. The citizens offered to donate funds to buy dog waste bags. Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden, one of San Jose Parks Foundation’s most active partners, has secured a supplier.
Reber has been working with San Jose Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services staff to identify the location and quantity of dispensers and to assure maintenance of the dispensers.
Persons interested in contributing funds to the program may contact the foundation, donate online at www.sanjoseparks.org or mail a check to San Jose Parks Foundation, P.O. Box 53841, San Jose, CA 95153.

With dwindling city resources, it is up to private citizens, businesses, and community organizations to support our city parks. We are raising funds to support the entire system, but we can also help raise funds with you for your particular project.
Almaden Lake Park features a variety of fish and waterfowl, including the resident geese pictured above. Its gentle green is a great place to spend a day with friends and family.
Parks are a vital part of our lives, they are places where we escape from the rapid-pace of our working lives.
Some of our most important moments in life take place in Parks: a baby's first step, a quiet moment of thoughtful reflection while contemplating a life-changing decision, a calm pastoral setting for a walk with a friend, a first kiss, a proposal of marriage.
A park is often the location of a family picnic where that wonderful family photo was taken, a treasured spot for reading and relaxation, a trail for a bike ride or a healthy hike.
Contact us today to find out how we can work together to save San Jose's Parks and Trails.
If your group or organization is working with any aspect of the San Jose Parks, Trails, Community Centers, or Recreation Programs and Services, San Jose Parks Foundation is here for you.
We want you to spend your precious time and energy improving parks and not messing with paperwork or trying to negotiate through a bureaucracy.

We can work with you to suit your needs, from organizing to fundraising and everything in between. We can even provide a place for people to donate, either as a formal Fiscal receiver or merely as a transfer point, so that donations may be deducted.
It is our hope that you will join the other groups that San Jose Parks Foundation supports. Together we are much more powerful and capable of doing great things.
Contact Executive Director, James Reber to find out what we can do for your organization.
